Information for Out-of-Town Patients

In search of the ideal surgeon, patients often look beyond their hometown. While traveling for surgery is inconvenient, it is a small trade-off for finding the right surgeon who will deliver the best results. Bearing this in mind, Dr. Delgado has done everything possible to make the trip to his Northern California practice a pleasant and stress-free experience.

We have developed a very safe and effective program for our out-of-town patients. We guide the patient every step of the way, beginning with a complimentary phone consultation with Dr. Delgado. To arrange a phone consultation, simply email photos of your areas of concern with views from front, each side and back, if applicable to info@dr-delgado.com. Please include some details about yourself such as height, weight, age and desired procedure. Be sure to include your phone number and the best times to call (Pacific Time). Dr. Delgado will personally call you to discuss and evaluate your condition then review options. After your phone consultation a precise quote will be email to you. Should you choose to proceed, a surgery date will be scheduled. A comprehensive information booklet containing preparatory and recovery information will be mailed to you. You will also receive a lab requisition for required blood tests that must be done prior to your travel date.

In most cases, we ask for an arrival of at least one or two days prior to surgery. A five to ten day stay (or longer in some cases) is required for immediate post operative care. We recommend packing lightly as your trip home must not be physically strenuous. It is required that every patient have someone stay with him/her overnight, for at least one night. For those traveling alone or who do not have friends or family in the area, we will provide information on lodging, transportation and caregivers to fit all budgets.

This hotel offers a free shuttle which will take you to the surgery center and office as needed as well as to local businesses and shops during your recovery, as well as provide many other amenities. Be sure to mention Dr. Delgado for a reduced rate. Marin Airporter provides roundtrip transportation to and from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for a nominal fee.

Once home, Dr. Delgado will continue to follow your recovery via phone, email and Skype. Typically, he will ask for photos to be emailed.
