Before Facelift Surgery

A consultation with Dr. Delgado can be scheduled at either his San Francisco office or his Marin County office.

At your consultation, Dr. Delgado will ask you to discuss your concerns about your face. He will want to know your short- and long-term goals. Based on these desires, he will explain the best facelift technique for your needs. This conversation includes your eyes and eyebrows.

Dr. Delgado may use computer imaging to show a visual impression of the proposed outcome. This is a popular tool that is extremely helpful and enhances communication.

Before Facelift surgery, you will be given a detailed preoperative instruction booklet that will explain your medications and any preparations you need to make at home. This preoperative booklet has a comprehensive list of medications, including aspirin products and anti-inflammatories, which need to be discontinued two weeks prior, as well as the two weeks following your surgery. Tylenol may be taken during these periods. You will also be given a list of vitamins and homeopathic drugs to take before and after your surgery to reduce bruising and swelling.
